What is Tapping?

Tapping, also known as Meridian Tapping, is a body-mind technique. Meridians are the electrical lines that run throughout the body that acupuncturists use. So tapping is a type of acupressure.

Please go online and watch the youtube video:  “Intro to EFT – Tapping with Brad Yates” for an excellent introduction to tapping. I encourage you to watch him and then come back to here, because it will quickly help the rest of this will make even more sense.

Tapping assumes both body and mind need to be engaged in order to have significant change, and provides a way to do that. When tapping, you are instructed to think about an issue and to tap lightly on the meridian points at the same time. This gives you the body/mind connection that is so powerful.
The type of tapping that I use is called Emotional Freedom Technique, or EFT. There are other types of tapping; this one is widely accepted and easily learned.
There is a full explanation of why tapping is so critical, where the points are and how to use them (I use a couple more points than others do, don’t be surprised), and how tapping can be used for a variety of situations. If you don’t care why, you can skip that section, you can always come back to it later! It is fine to jump down to the tapping points pictures, read the short intro 1 and 2, and finger tapping, and then pop down to the cravings exercise.
